As part of the Numbulwar Numburindi pop-up studio at Tait during Melbourne Design Week, visiting artists Rose Wilfred, Joy Wilfred and Janette Murrungun will host a weaving circle; an educational conversation and making experience.

In the weaving circle, the artists share their skills and processes with the participants, who will have the opportunity to talk to the artists about their material harvesting and traditional practices.

Through the weaving circle, the artists hope to create active dialogue and education between Numbulwar Numburindi Arts and the participants.

Located off the East coast of the Northern Territory, Numbulwar Numburindi Arts is built on self-determination and exists to keep Culture strong. The artists harvest ghost nets and reclaimed fishing nets from their shores to create sustainable woven works.
