“Robić” is the Polish word for “make”. At Community Hall, visitors are welcome to drop by and participate in a hands-on activity created by Melbourne Now designers, Brud Studia. Utilizing a set interlocking shapes to construct DIY furniture prototypes, participants will create a three-dimensional sculpture from card.

Brud Studia

Established in Melbourne in 2020, Brud Studia is the collaborative practice of designers Andy Kelly and Mitchell Zurek. Designing and making one-of-a-kind and limited-edition furniture and objects, Brud Studia favours simple construction processes to produce conceptual works based on a Brutalist aesthetic stemming from the early twentieth-century architecture movement. Brud Studia pieces have been featured in exhibitions held at Craft Victoria, Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, Melbourne Art Fair, 2022, and Melbourne Design Fair, 2022. The studio has also created bespoke pieces for clients and public art commissions in collaboration with Yarra City Council.

*Please note the designers are not present for this drop-by activity.
