Students and graduates are invited to to an open studio workshop at Powell & Glenn that will examine the role of architecture and interior design in designing the world we want. Principal Director Ed Glenn along with Head of Interiors Clementine Jacobs and Design Manager Alex Duncan will present three case studies that will explore this theme. Imparting knowledge accumulated over the practice’s long history, participants will see firsthand how design narratives are formed, applied and executed. Distilling the studio’s philosophy of permanence and poetry, each study will consider how built environments shape our engagement with the world, and the potential for both positive and negative impacts.

Through transparent access to an architecture and interior design practice, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the studio and engage with the team to learn about the industry and various internal processes of an established practice – opening the door to opportunities for learning, mentorship, and the applied realities of practicing architecture and interior design in 2023. This event positions the value of architecture and interior design as having genuine currency in our changing world – demonstrating how projects of legacy don’t just happen, but evolve with great consideration and commitment for today and tomorrow.
