The Artists Residence

Under the historic beams of an apartment within the Foy & Gibson Precinct in Collingwood, Fred International and Halcyon Lake present the Artist’s residence.

A uniquely curated apartment space showcasing a collection of art & objects, furniture, rugs and lighting that sets the scene of the home of an artisan collector. As if collected and created over time, the objects in the performative space immerse the guest into the mind of our artisan in residence, V.Brokkr. Curated by Without Studio, the apartment becomes an artists’ haven of creativity and comfort during the city’s Design Week this May.

The exhibition showcases how historic architecture’s legacy has influenced contemporary living. The exhibition comprises four distinct rooms that exhibit lighting designs from Lyfa, furniture from DUX, Fogia, BRDR Kruger, rugs from Reuber Henning and sculptures & ceramics from a selection of carefully curated artists from James Makin Gallery. Meandering through each room, the visitor gains a sense of stillness in time, surrounded with sound by Bang & Olufsen.
