In an increasingly short-term world facing significant challenges on the horizon, the art of thinking long-term is more critical than ever. However, many people struggle to apply this mindset in their daily lives. Imagining Our Future is a workshop style event organised by Sustainability Victoria to help participants learn about future thinking in a creative and interactive environment, alongside experts in foresight.

According to Sustainability Victoria, major issues of our time, such as inequality, conflict, and climate change, require solutions that extend beyond the short-term. Foresight thinking holds the promise of enabling exploration of multiple potential futures, so individuals, organisations and governments can make better strategic decisions today to help bring us closer to our desired future tomorrow.

At the event, participants will have the opportunity to practice future thinking, create their own artifact from the future at the Futures Bazaar and discuss potential future scenarios with peers and experts from Sustainability Victoria. They can also provide input into Sustainability Victoria’s futures and foresight work. This event is made possible by BETA by STH BNK.
