Three different mediums – radical architectural drawings, animation, and a sculptural model – work in unison to deliver the message of how bamboo as a material could be an all-encompassing industry that could be used for problems needing short term and long term solutions.
The exhibition’s focus is on the concept of how the supply chain of bamboo, an undervalued and overlooked material, could be adapted into the Australian context, including different ways in which bamboo could be prepared and manufactured. Drawing on a variety of design techniques enables a more refined execution of a complex concept, and highlights the tension between hypothetical architecture and real-world constraints.
